Dr. Tommy Ham - Lead Pastor
I have been married to Crystie for 28 years. We have three children, all out of the house, and love being "empty-nesters." I've been a Texan all my life.
I have a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary; a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southwest Texas State University.
I came to HBC in August, 2000, after previously serving churches in Quitman, Kemp, and Waxahachie, Texas.
Favorite Book/Movie: To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus Finch was a man’s man
Favorite Food: Texas Bar-B-Q.
Favorite
Sports Teams: Dallas Cowboys and The Texas Rangers (I lived in or near the Metroplex for too many years)
Favorite Band: I don't know who my favorite band is but there is a quirky little song I love by Flogging Molly. And I like "Small Town" by John Mellencamp.
Favorite Season: Fall, Summer heat finally breaks and football season begins
Random Thoughts: I love good stories…books, movies, TV shows, etc. Give me a quality story where I cannot guess the ending… and I am happy.
I love to play golf but I'm not good. I always think I can be a lot better.
Apple over PC.
Birthday: July 29.
Who would I love to have coffee with? You. Email me.
My Vision for HBC:
I want to see HBC lead a movement that rocks this community, this region, and touches people around the world for the kingdom of God. Matthew 11:12 says “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.” I want us to lay hold of the kingdom and be a part of the advance. That is why I dream of The Corner…so that we can develop of base of operations to reach out.
The Bucket List:
My bucket list consists of traveling around the Unites States and United Kingdom playing great golf courses. I'd love to play Augusta, Pebble Beach, Doral, Torrey Pines, and many others. I'd love to spend a couple of weeks working my way through Ireland, Scotland, and England.
